Topic: God’s House Of Prayer Is For All People (Part 3)

READ: Isaiah 56:6-7 (KJV); Mark 11:15-17 (MSG)

“Also the sons of the stranger, that join themselves to the LORD, to serve him, and to love the name of the LORD, to be his servants, every one that keepeth the sabbath from polluting it, and taketh hold of my covenant; Even them will I bring to my holy mountain, and make them joyful in my house of prayer: their burnt offerings and their sacrifices shall be accepted upon mine altar; for mine house shall be called an house of prayer for all people.”

“They arrived at Jerusalem. Immediately on entering the Temple, Jesus started throwing out everyone who had set up shop there, buying and selling. He kicked over the tables of the bankers and the stalls of the pigeon merchants. He didn’t let anyone even carry a basket through the Temple. And then he taught them, quoting this text:
My house was designated a house of prayer for the nations;
You’ve turned it into a hangout for thieves.”

MESSAGE

Beloved, the scripture says, “My house was designated a house of prayer for the nations . . .” So, don’t turn it into a market for buying and selling, and “. . . into a hangout for thieves.” Let every “buying and selling” be outside the gate of any place God has “designated a house of prayer for the nations”

Child of God, no matter how difficult the times are (economically, financially, etc), don’t turn God’s house of prayer into a market for buying and selling. It’s important to note that marketplaces are hangout for thieves. Do not join those who turn God’s house of prayer “into a hangout for thieves” because it has grave consequences.

Dear Christian, join the Lord Jesus Christ, in a lawful manner (according to the laws of your land), to “throw out everyone who had set up shop there, buying and selling.” Lawfully, join Your Master, Saviour and Lord, Jesus Christ, Who “kicked over the tables of the bankers and the stalls of the pigeon merchants.” Do everything lawfully in your power not to “let anyone even carry a basket through the Temple” in the name of business (market: for buying and selling). Let the Church, fellowship centres, prayer grounds, etc, which have been set up for God and His worship be preserved as it is: “designated a house of prayer for the nations”

PRAYER

My God and Father, thank you for your words of admonition. Deliver me from the temptation of turning Your place of worship, which is “designated a house of prayer for the nations” into a marketplace and hang-out for thieves. Give me the wisdom to lawfully stop others from doing the same. Lord, God, give me the wisdom not to disrupt prayers and worship of the saints because of business and give double blessings to the work of my hands to be a blessing in these perilous times in Jesus’ name. Amen!
