BIBLE READING
Deuteronomy 8:1-18

COMMENTARY

Blessed family and friends, There’s a man called Bear Grylls, who teaches survival strategies in the wilderness on television. He could get water out of plants and eat wild locusts and honey like John the Baptist.

You may never apprehend the parlance, “necessity is the mother of invention,” until you find yourself in a situation where no help is available. In those circumstances, the Grace of God takes over, and your survival mode kicks in. In that dire moment, your body can turn poison into protein just to survive.

Nutritionists warn that the body needs a regular balanced diet in order to remain healthy. The Manna that God sent to the children of Israel was custom-made and defied all nutritional instructions, and the Israelites ate it daily for 40 years and suffered no malnutrition or health problems. They had no change of garments nor shoes but whatever they left Egypt with, grew on them. As the children grew in height and weight, their garments, bracelets, and sandals expanded to accommodate their new stature.

“And he humbled thee, and suffered thee to hunger, and fed thee with manna, which thou knewest not, neither did thy fathers know; that he might make thee know that man doth not live by bread only, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of the LORD doth man live. Thy raiment waxed not old upon thee, neither did thy foot swell, these forty years.” (Deuteronomy 8:3-4)

Whatever provisions the Lord has made available to you today, appropriate same without complaint or murmuring. At one time in my life, I ate only one food item, three times a day for one year, yet I looked so healthy; that was my manna. Daniel and his brethren ate only pulse (a type of beans) for several days and were in terrific shape better than those who ate the so-called king’s balanced diet (Daniel 1:8-20).

I speak over your life today that you’re a survivor, a winner, an overcomer, and a victor.

I decree extravagant grace for extraordinary miracles in your life and family this month in Jesus’ Name.

WHAT YOU HAVE TO DO

Live on the Word, and you will never lack bread in Jesus’ Name.
