COMMENTARY

Blessed family and friends, nothing hurts like unrequited love. Most times, the people you love so deeply perhaps have no emotions towards you.

I’ve counselled numerous couples where one of the parties felt he or she married the other circumstantially not out of pure love. Some marry because of money, physical attributes, and the opportunities that the union will bring. Any other reasons devoid of agape love are transient.

That has been the summary of God’s romance with the children of Israel in particular and the world in general. He so loved us, but we have reciprocated His love so poorly. See an example of this licentious behaviour below:

“But you have not called upon Me, O Jacob; and you have been weary of Me, O Israel. You have not brought Me the sheep of your burnt offerings, nor have you honoured Me with your sacrifices . . . but you have burdened Me with your sins, you have wearied Me with your iniquities.” (Isaiah 43:22-24).

If God, it could be said that He literally lamented the strained relationship with His beloved nation, ISRAEL.

Are you in a non-too-romantic or toxic relationship? Does your partner, family, or friends rebuff your love efforts? Don’t give up. Report them to the throne room in heaven and plead that God should transform their hearts. “The king’s heart is in the hand of the LORD, as the rivers of water: he turneth it whithersoever he will.” (Proverbs 21:1)

It’s my prayer that as you reciprocate God’s love today, where you were resented, you shall now be respected, and where you were rejected, you shall become celebrated in Jesus’ Name.

WHAT YOU HAVE TO DO

1) Make loving a lifestyle.
2). Respond to every genuine affection within the holiness corridors.

PRAYERS

1). Grace to love God with all my heart, all my soul and all my strength, locate me in Jesus’ Name.
2). My love and compassion shall not be wasted in Jesus’ Name.
3). Every power contending with my destiny, perish in Jesus’ Name.
4). My good shall not be evil spoken of in Jesus’ Name.

Please, kindly share this Devotional. Thank you so much. God bless you. Amen!
