Topic: God’s House Of Prayer Is For All People (Part 4)
READ: Isaiah 56:6-7 (KJV); Mark 11:15-17 (MSG)
“Also the sons of the stranger, that join themselves to the LORD, to serve him, and to love the name of the LORD, to be his servants, every one that keepeth the sabbath from polluting it, and taketh hold of my covenant; Even them will I bring to my holy mountain, and make them joyful in my house of prayer: their burnt offerings and their sacrifices shall be accepted upon mine altar; for mine house shall be called an house of prayer for all people.”
“They arrived at Jerusalem. Immediately on entering the Temple, Jesus started throwing out everyone who had set up shop there, buying and selling. He kicked over the tables of the bankers and the stalls of the pigeon merchants. He didn’t let anyone even carry a basket through the Temple. And then he taught them, quoting this text:
My house was designated a house of prayer for the nations;
You’ve turned it into a hangout for thieves.”
MESSAGE
Beloved, the act of buying attractive products everywhere, even in the church, is said to be a therapeutic treatment for many but it’s not advisable to be involved in such as a child of God. The best therapy for a Christian who needs some form of treatment from bodily, mental, or behavioural disorder is to worship God and fellowship with believers in Christ Jesus in His House of Prayer and not to recklessly buy attractive products.
James 5:13-14 admonishes Christians who are afflicted to pray; those that are makiing merry to sing psalms and those that are sick to “call for the elders of the church; and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord” in God’s House of Prayer. This is the most important prescription for a man who needs any form of therapy. Buying attractive items or products recklessly in God’s House of Prayer is not inclusive.
Dear Christian, avoid distractions when you go into God’s House of Prayer: church, fellowship centres, prayer meetings, Christian conferences, and conventions, etc. Do not patronise sellers of attractive items during Christian programmes and discourage others from doing so. Yes, don’t be distracted with buying and selling. Whenever you’re in God’s House of Prayer, concentrate only on the components of true worship, which includes prayer, praise and worship, testimonies, exhortations, giving (offerings), and benediction.
PRAYER
My God and Father, thank you for your words of admonition. It is You who works in me both to will and do of Your good pleasure. Lord, God, let Your words work upon my heart (life) and deliver me from all forms of buying and selling that cause distractions in Your House of Prayer for all people. Help me to concentrate on the main components of worship and give speedy answers to my prayer for the joy and peace of my life in Jesus’ name. Amen!

She was ordained into Christian Ministry in 1996 and co-founded the Kings Gospel Ministry International Incorporated (also known as Total Gospel Church) and she is the Proprietress of Total Child Development School in Nigeria (a mission school).
Mary is consecrated and currently ministering specifically to the students in the Bayelsa Medical University and generally labouring in God’s vineyard as a conference speaker: building lives, especially of youths and women. She is married to Rev. Dr. John Emmanuel Ibrahim and their union is blessed with five children.
