Topic: God’s Word Completes Assignment (Part 4)
READ: Isaiah 55:8-11 (AMP); John 6:63 (MSG)
“For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways. My ways, says the Lord.
For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are My ways higher than your ways and My thoughts than your thoughts.
For as the rain and snow come down from the heavens, and return not there again, but water the earth and make it bring forth and sprout, that it may give seed to the sower and bread to the eater,
So shall My word be that goes forth out of My mouth: it shall not return to Me void [without producing any effect, useless], but it shall accomplish that which I please and purpose, and it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it.”
“The Spirit can make life. Sheer muscle and willpower don’t make anything happen. Every word I’ve spoken to you is a Spirit-word, and so it is life-making.”
MESSAGE
Beloved, Jesus Christ said in the opening scripture, “Every word I’ve spoken to you is a Spirit-word, and so it is life-making.” As Spirit, God’s Word goes forth into action (as a personality) to accomplish His thoughts and desires (as indicated in His spoken Word). And God said in Jeremiah 29:11, “For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.” As Spirit, therefore, God’s Word goes forth into action to make peaceful life (not evil) happen for you. That is, for you to have an expected end (hope and future).
Dear Christian, since you are made in the image and likeness of God, your words are also spirit and life or death depending on how they’re spoken through your tongue. Proverbs 18:21 says, “Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof.”
Child of God, you have a responsibility to have faith in God’s Word. You need to agree with God’s Word and His promise sent out as written in the Bible or spoken by His servants. You must agree with God’s Word written or spoken in your favour by saying and affirming what He has said, and not the contrary.
Note: The devil may be watching over your negatively believed and spoken words, to use them to accomplish evil in your life just as God watches over His good Word (promise) to perform miracles for your joy and peace. So, be careful not to be negative in your thoughts and speech. No matter what happens, endeavour to THINK and SPEAK POSITIVELY. Align yourself with God’s word that has gone forth (written in the Bible or spoken by believers) by thinking and speaking the same (as He means it) so that the harvest will bring abundant (fulness) of life and peace to you.
Stop unnecessary jokes, which (words), if made manifest, will not give you a fullness of life and peace. Stop the jesting, etc, that are not in alignment with God’s good thoughts, words, and plan for you. Only think and speak the words that are in line with God’s perfect will for you and wait, like the farmer, to harvest fulness of life and peace.
PRAYER
My God and Father, thank you for your words of admonition. Forgive me and cancel every negative word I have spoken to the detriment of my well-being. Help me to align my thoughts and words with yours always. Lord, God, watch over your words to complete the good assignment in my life for me to harvest fulness of life, peace, and joy in Jesus ‘ name. Amen!

Mary was a member of the Greater Evangelism World Crusade (an international Christian organisation) for about a decade and became one of her pastors in Rumousi, Rivers State. She was ordained into Christian Ministry in 1996 and co-founded the Kings Gospel Ministry International Incorporated (also known as Total Gospel Church) and she is the Proprietress of Total Child Development School in Nigeria (a mission school).
Mary is consecrated and currently ministering specifically to the students in the Bayelsa Medical University and generally labouring in God’s vineyard as a conference speaker: building lives, especially of youths and women. She is married to Rev. Dr. John Emmanuel Ibrahim and their union is blessed with five children.
