A Word In Season (Part 54): The Potent Weapons Of The Mighty (No. 10) — No More Condemnation

[1] There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. Romans 8:1

1). Resist the thought of condemnation

Depression, heaviness and suicidal tendencies are the by-products of negative thoughts of condemnation. You must resist it. The thought of condemnation reduces a person to a state of worthlessness in his or her thoughts. Watch it when you begin to believe that God does not love you or that you are not worthy of God’s mercy because of the magnitude of your sins. You are the very reason Jesus died on the Cross. You may be feeling terrible because the things you don’t want to do are the very things you find yourself doing and the things you want to do are the very things you are unable or struggling to do. See Romans 7:19:
[19] For the good that I would I do not: but the evil which I would not, that I do.

Don’t condemn yourself. Jesus did not condemn the woman caught in the act of adultery but forgave her and commanded her to go and sin no more. The words “repent” and “forsake” are two keys you must lay hold on (John 8:10-11). Help is on the way. Take a look at our anchor scripture again.

Friends, resist the thought of condemnation if you must do mighty things. It could also be that you feel rejected or you are not feeling appreciated by people around you or those you work with/work for. Bear in mind that you are accepted in Christ Jesus and that you are the beloved of the Lord (Ephesians 1:6). Friends, acceptance in Christ is what counts.

Sometimes you have the consciousness of not being good enough. Hear me: Jesus does not condemn us. He came for those who are not good enough so He can make them good enough for God in Christ Jesus. (Matthew 9:13). You are the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus. But you must bring forth fruits worthy of repentance (Luke 3:8).

PRAYER POINTS

  1. From today, I refuse the blanket of condemnation in the name of Jesus Christ.
  2. O Lord God, I receive grace to overcome self-condemnation.
  3. O Lord, grant me the power to walk by the Spirit and not by the flesh.
  4. I reject the spirit of depression, suicide, rejection and condemnation.
  5. Deck me with grace, O Lord, that I may walk worthy of my calling and produce fruits worthy of repentance.
